Why We Do What We Do at Milletpets?

People often ask why we started a pet clothing brand. The answer? It’s wrapped up in our slogan: Born to create happiness.

But here’s the real story behind that line.

We didn’t set out to launch a brand. We just wanted to dress our dogs—Millet, Coffee, Little Sister, and Little Beauty—in clothes that actually fit. They’re all small breeds (think Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Maltese, Toy Poodle), and if you’ve ever tried shopping for dog clothes in that size range, you know the struggle. Either things are way too big, or they technically fit but look awkward, uncomfortable, or, let’s be honest—just not that cute.

We couldn’t find anything that combined a proper fit and style. No one was really designing for small dogs with care. So we pulled out the sewing machine. Then another. Then another. And we got to work designing outfits that would fit our dogs the way clothes are supposed to: snug in the right places, easy to move in, soft on the skin, and—yes—adorable.

It wasn’t about fashion for fashion’s sake. It was about celebrating the connection we have with our pets. About making sure they feel as loved and special on the outside as they are on the inside. And once we saw our pups running around in their little cotton dog hoodies, wool sweaters, and vacation shirts, we realized—this wasn’t just solving our problem. It was something we wanted to share.

That’s when the slogan came to us. Born to create happiness is more than a catchphrase—it’s a belief. Our pets were literally born to bring joy into our homes. And we wanted Milletpets to return that joy in a small way—through clothing that’s cozy, confident, and made with love.

Whether it’s a formal shirt for a celebration, a soft sweater for a breezy walk, or a matching vacation outfit for you and your pup, our goal is the same: to make your everyday moments with your pet a little brighter, a little funnier, and a whole lot more joyful.
